What You Need to Know

We pick up gas water heaters once the supply line has been disconnected and capped by a licensed gas fitter. We do not disconnect live gas lines.

Need gas disconnection? Call Enbridge at 1-877-362-7434 or hire a licensed HVAC contractor. Once capped, we're ready to come.

Electric tanks are simpler — just shut off the breaker and we handle everything else.

Is hot water tank removal really free?
Yes — standard pickup is always free for accessible units. We recover value from the scrap metal in the tank, which covers our cost. No hidden fees, no surprise charges.
Do I need to drain the tank first?
Ideally yes — a drained tank is much lighter and easier to move safely. Drain it by connecting a garden hose to the drain valve at the bottom. If you can't drain it, let us know and we'll discuss.
Do you remove gas water heaters?
Yes, after the gas line is disconnected and capped by a licensed gas fitter. For electric tanks, no special prep is needed beyond shutting off the breaker.
My water heater is in the basement — can you still take it?
Yes. Basement removal falls under Premium Plus service. Pricing depends on stairwell access and complexity. Contact us for a quick assessment.
How quickly can you pick it up?
Standard pickups happen within 24–48 hours. Same-day service is available through Premium Plus — contact us by late morning and we can often get there the same day.
Do you serve areas outside Toronto?

Is there a minimum or maximum tank size?
We take all residential sizes (30, 40, 50, 60, 80 gallon) and commercial units up to 100+ gallons. Contact us for very large commercial tanks to discuss logistics.
