Junk Removal
Free If It's Metal

Every other junk removal company charges you for the whole pile. We don't charge for the metal in it — because we get paid at the scrap yard instead. The more metal in your cleanout, the less you pay.

How Much Does Junk Removal Cost in Toronto?

With Scrap Metal Men, metal is removed free and everything else costs $100–300 per load, depending on volume. Because we don't charge for the metal, a mixed load costs less here than at a company that bills for the entire pile regardless of what's in it.

Add-ons where they apply: same-day service $75–150, difficult access (basement, third floor, no driveway) $50–200, demolition labour $85–100/hr. You get the number before we arrive, and it doesn't change on the day.

What You Actually Pay

Junk removal pricing is normally hidden behind a site visit. Here is ours in full.

ServicePriceHow it's measured
Anything metal $0 No limit on weight or quantity
Non-metal junk $100–300 Per load, by volume in the truck
Same-day service +$75–150 Subject to schedule
Difficult access +$50–200 Basements, upper floors, no driveway
Demolition labour $85–100/hr Sheds, decks, fencing, built-ins

A typical single-car garage cleanout with a decent amount of metal lands near the bottom of that range. A full basement of furniture and boxes with little metal lands near the top. Text a photo and you'll get the actual number, not a range.

The Metal Pays for the Trip

A junk removal company makes money one way: you pay them, they pay the dump. Every item in your pile is a cost to them, so every item gets billed to you.

We started as scrap metal haulers. Metal isn't a cost to us — it's revenue, recovered at the yard. So when your cleanout contains an old washer, a bed frame, some shelving and a barbecue, that portion doesn't go on your bill at all. You're only paying for the couch and the boxes.

Cleanouts We Do Most

🚗
Garage Cleanouts
Decades of tools, bikes, shelving, paint racks, spare parts and the lawnmower that stopped working in 2019.
Usually 40–60% metal — one of the cheapest jobs we quote
🏚️
Basement Cleanouts
Storage shelving, old appliances, furniture, boxes, and the exercise bike nobody has touched in years.
Access pricing may apply for stairs
🏠
Estate Cleanouts
Full-house clearing, handled without rushing you. We set aside anything donatable and tell you before it leaves.
Quoted per property after a walkthrough
🔨
Renovation Debris
Post-demo loads — old cabinets, ducting, pipe, framing, flooring and drywall off a live job site.
Ducting and pipe come off the bill
🏢
Office & Commercial
Desks, cubicles, filing cabinets, server racks and shelving from office moves and closures.
Often majority metal — frequently near-free
🛏️
Single Item Pickup
One couch, one mattress, one hot tub cover. No minimum, no need to fill a truck to book us.
Single metal items are always free

How It Works

01
Text a Photo
One picture of the pile tells us the volume and the metal content. That's everything we need to price it.
02
Get a Fixed Price
Usually within the hour. We tell you which items are free and what the rest costs — before anyone is booked.
03
We Clear It Out
Curb, garage, basement or top floor. We carry, load and sweep up. You don't lift anything.
04
Sorted, Not Dumped
Metal to a licensed Ontario yard, usable goods to donation, and only the genuine remainder to a transfer station.

Toronto & the GTA

Junk removal across the City of Toronto — including downtown, the Beaches, Leslieville, the Junction, Etobicoke and East York — plus Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham, Scarborough and North York.

Outside that ring — Oakville, Pickering, Richmond Hill, Ajax — call and ask. If we're already running that way, we'll usually take it.

Junk Removal FAQ

Is junk removal ever actually free?
Yes — when the load is all metal. Appliances, radiators, furnaces, BBQs, exercise equipment, filing cabinets, shelving, bed frames and fencing all come out free because we recover their value at the yard. A garage cleanout that happens to be entirely metal costs you nothing.
What's the difference between junk removal and scrap metal pickup?
Scrap metal pickup is metal only, and always free. Junk removal covers everything else — furniture, mattresses, wood, drywall, household clutter — priced by load volume. Most real cleanouts are a mix, so we zero out the metal and charge only for the rest.
Do you do garage and basement cleanouts?
Yes, and they're our most common junk jobs. They also tend to be metal-heavy — tools, bikes, shelving, appliances — which works in your favour. We carry everything out ourselves; nothing needs to be at the curb first.
What won't you take?
Hazardous waste: paint, solvents, motor oil, gasoline, propane tanks, asbestos, chemicals, ammunition and medical waste. Those need licensed disposal — a City of Toronto Household Hazardous Waste depot takes them free from residents. We also can't touch anything still connected to a live gas line.
How fast can you come?
Most jobs book within 24–48 hours. Same-day is available for $75–150 when the schedule allows. Text a photo and you'll usually have a firm price within the hour.
Do I need to be home?
Not for curbside, garage or driveway jobs — access instructions are enough. For a basement or estate cleanout, someone should be there to confirm what stays and what goes.
Where does it all end up?
Metal goes to a licensed Ontario scrap yard and becomes new raw material. Furniture and household goods in good condition are set aside for donation. Only what genuinely can't be recycled or reused goes to a licensed transfer station.
Can you handle a full house or just a few items?
Both. There's no minimum — a single mattress is a valid job — and no real maximum either. Full estate clearings are quoted after a walkthrough so the price is fixed before we start.
